Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant suffered a hamstring injury Tuesday against the Washington Wizards. An MRI on Wednesday revealed a strain, which is good news for the Thunder.
Despite his vast amount of injury issues last season, Durant doesn't have a history of hamstring problems. That's most definitely a good thing for his prognosis moving forward this season. Though, the Thunder will want to take it slow with him. These things can tend to linger if not given the proper recovery time.
Durant, 27, is averaging 28.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this season. He missed all but 27 games to injury last year. Dion Waiters, Andre Roberson and D.J. Augustin will take on larger roles with Durant sidelined.
But as we saw last season, Russell Westbrook should be expected to put up some huge numbers with Durant out of action. He's the one to focus on here.
