New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose suffered an ankle injury in Friday's win over the Charlotte Hornets and missed Sunday's outing against the Atlanta Hawks.
Still in a walking boot, Rose has been officially ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards and will likely miss the team's date with the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
This really shouldn't come as a surprise. Rose sprained his ankle after he stpped on Kemba Walker's foot in the second half of Friday's game. With his injury history, New York is surely best playing it safe. This could potentially mean a longer-term absense than what we would normally see from a similar injury.
With Rose out of action on Tuesday, Brandon Jennings will see more time. He scored 18 points and dished out 11 assists in Sunday's thrilling four-overtime loss to the Hawks.
