The Los Angeles Lakers will have starting point guard D'Angelo Russell back in the mix on Tuesday after missing the previous three games with injuries to both his calf and his knee. Russell will start against the Denver Nuggets, relegating Jose Calderon to bench duties.
Despite having a pretty solid matchup against a below-average Nuggets defensive backcourt, Russell shouldn't be considered a DFS play in a slate of action that includes much better options, even for mid-range fantasy performers.
Russell, in his second NBA season, is averaging 14.3 points and 4.4 assists while shooting at a sub 40 percent clip from the field. He's been a major disappointment for Luke Walton and Co. thus far this season.
