Los Angeles Clippers to Sit Trio Against the Thunder on Thursday

Pretty much locked into the fourth seed in the Western Conference and with the expected return of Blake Griffin from injury/suspension this upcoming weekend, the Los Angeles Clippers made the decision to sit three of their stars for Thursday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Chris Paul, J.J. Redick and DeAndre Jordan will all be in street clothes for what would normally be an elite-level late-season matchup between two powerhouse teams.

From a DFS perspective, this opens up a whole new can of worms as it relates to the Clippers.

With Paul and Redick out of action, expect reserve guard Austin Rivers to play a huge role in this game — potentially even up to 40 minutes of action. He's tallied eight-plus points in seven of the team's past eight games, going for double-digit points five times during that span. In fact, Rivers is averaging 10.2 points over the past 10 games. He's a solid late value add on FanDuel at just $3,600.

The expectation here also has to be that Pablo Prigioni will see more action. Though, he's nowhere near a viable fantasy option even in extended minutes. When Rivers does man the point guard position, Jeff Green could slide over to the two in order to give the Clippers a pretty lengthy back-court tandem. In this, he's likely to see more than the 26 minutes he's been averaging over the past five games. That's only magnified by the injury to Paul Pierce. Green is a tremendous play Thursday evening.

When it comes to Jordan sitting, Cole Aldrich is the only viable center on the Clippers roster. This means he's going to see 30-plus minutes of action against the Thunder. Aldrich has put up double-digit fantasy points in nine of his past 10 games while seeing an average of just a dozen minutes per outing.
