Out of playing contention heading into the final week of the season, the Dallas Mavericks really have nothing to play for. Hence, the team's decision to sit Dirk Nowitzki, Seth Curry and Wes Matthews for Tuesday's outing against the Sacramento Kings.
Dirk has been dealing with a bum Achilles for the vast majority of the season, but has been able to play through it recently. The veteran has not missed a game since the end of January.
Meanwhile, Curry is sitting out with a shoulder injury and Matthews is simply taking a night off from work.
The biggest fantasy relevance here has to be the usage rate we'll see from Nerlens Noel, who should see a major uptick in minutes and scoring opportunities with Dirk out. Noel is averaging 9.0 points and 7.1 rebounds in less than 24 minutes of action since joining the Mavericks. Look for his minutes to tick up to 30-plus Tuesday evening.
With both Matthews and Curry out, Dallas will be relying on Yogi Ferrell and Devin Harris to man the point. Neither can be relied on from a DFS standpoint.
