Most Disappointing Fantasy Centers of the NBA's First Half

Al Horford, Boston Celtics

Positional Ranking: 13th

Preseason Center ADP: 3rd

It's a fine line to call Horford a bust, because he's played tremendous basketball in his first season with the upstart Celtics. Unfortunately, he just hasn't had the fantasy impact most figured he would have. A preseason ADP of No. 3 among centers was too high in the first place. Now add in the fact that Isaiah Thomas is averaging nearly 30 points per game, and it's not a surprise that Horford has struggled form this perspective.

He's averaging his lowest point total since the 2011-12 season at just 14.6. Horford's rebounds are also a career-worst for the former All-Star. This has led to a bench standing in standard 12-team leagues and a fantasy consistency that has him ninth among centers heading into the unofficial second half of the season.

DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers

Positional Ranking: 7th

Preseason Center ADP: 5th

Like pretty much the entire Clippers team, Jordan's 2016-17 campaign can be called somewhat of a disappointment. It's not th at he's played poorly. Jordan is still averaging 12.0 points and 13.7 rebounds per game. He also leads the NBA in field goal percentage with a 70.0 mark. Unfortunately, any idea given to Jordan somehow upping his game on offense can be thrown out the window.

He's still averaging less than seven shot attempts per game and has seen his point production decrease from a season ago. That's not the direction most figured Jordan would be headed when he boasted an ADP in the top five during the preseason. It's also taken place with both Chris Paul and Blake Griffin dealing with injuries. How he hasn't improved from a scoring standpoint is anyone's guess.

Brook Lopez, Brooklyn Nets

Positional Ranking: 11th

Preseason Center ADP: 7th

Lopez could potentially be on his way out of Brooklyn with the trade deadline looming on Thursday. And in reality, that would likely be the best thing for his career. Though, it would surely impact his fantasy output. For the second consecutive seasons, Lopez is averaging north of 20 points per game.

Unfortunately for those relying on him to be a major fantasy producer, he's also averaging just 5.2 rebounds and shooting at a disastrous 47 percent from the field. Neither of those numbers are even relevant when it comes to a fantasy center. Much like DeMarcus Cousins, a change of scenery is what could be needed here. Though, it would likely impact his scoring output as well.
