Markieff Morris, Washington Wizards
Positional Ranking: 10th
Preseason Power Forward ADP: 24th
Much like the rest of the Wizards squad, Morris himself is having a tremendously surprising season. Relied on as nothing more than a deep bench options, he's been a starter-caliber power forward in standard re-draft leagues. Here's a guy averaging 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting at a solid 45 percent clip from the field.
What makes Morris' performance so surprising thus far is the fact that he's been pretty darn consistent, hitting his PPG average in 31 of 53 games. In fact, Morris has scored double-digit points in all but nine games this season.
While the forward isn't one of Washington's top-three scoring options, he continues to put up the necessary points to make an impact. Add in a solid rebound performance, and that equates to a surprisingly successful fantasy season.
Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers
Positional Ranking: 4th
Preseason Power Forward ADP: 6th
Let's preface this by sending our condolences to those who own Love in year-long contests. Dude was absolutely tremendous before a knee injury forced him out likely through March. That's just not good for anyone involved, the Cavaliers themselves included.
But this is a focus on what Love has done up to this point, and he's been amazing. The fomer All-Star is averaging 20.0 points and 11.1 rebounds while shooting at an absurd 39 percent from the field. This has him as an elite-level fantasy performer. Add in the fact that Love ranks third at his position in consistency, and this is magnified even further.
Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers
Positional Ranking 5th
Presason Power Forward ADP: 12th
Talk about a budding star. We saw glimpses from Turner as a rookie, but he's definitely upped his game big time as a sophomore. The former first-round pick is averaging 15.6 points and 7.1 rebounds in 31 minutes of action per game. He's also shooting at a 52 percent clip from the field and an 80 percent mark from the free-throw line.
If Turner were counted as a center (his natural position), he would also be considered a top-12 fantasy performer at that position. Now add in the fact that he ranks fourth among power forwards in fantasy consistency, and it's readily apparent that Turner has taken off this season
