If you look at the NBA in the same fashion as the NFL then there are 25 weeks of NBA action. By breaking down each week and analyzing team schedules you can load your roster with players playing more games and sit those who are playing fewer games.
If all this sounds like a lot of work then you need not worry; because we have done the legwork for you. We are posting a weekly NBA start em’ and sit em’ fantasy guide to assist you in maximizing your fantasy roster potential.
Week 4 in the NBA officially goes from November 20th to the 26th inclusive. The week that will be is fairly standard across the league as most teams play either three or four games, no one team has a five game week. Having said that, the Oklahoma City Thunder have a short week in so much as they play only two games. If you are going to at any point in the season, now is the time to sit down Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in favour of those with a busier work week.
Well he has been a recommended start for two weeks in a row and we have to do it again. Kevin Love is quite simply the best performing fantasy option out there. He has thus far put up better fantasy numbers than LeBron James, Chris Paul and all others. Love’s Minnesota Timberwolves have a nice four game work week as they host Brooklyn and Los Angeles Clippers before heading out of town with stops in Houston and Indiana.
Love remains a must start fantasy option as he is showing no signs of cooling off. His season averages thus far are historic and should he continue to post 25+ ppg, 15+rpg and 5+ apg he will put himself into some elite company. Ride the hot hand while it lasts and keep running Love out there week after week.
As it just so happens the second best fantasy option out there is also a recommended must start this week. Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers have a favourable week ahead as they travel to Minnesota and Oklahoma then play host to Sacramento and Chicago.
Paul is off to a great start as he is averaging 19.6 ppg, 12.8 apg, 4.8 rpg and 2.9 steals per game. Those kind of numbers are simply too good to pass up and this week is a great time to get Paul into your lineup.
A bit of an unsung fantasy stud thus far is Jeff Teague out in Atlanta. Teague has quietly gone about having a fantastic start to the season. If I were to ask you to name the top ten fantasy options would you have Teague in there? You should, he is actually the ninth highest ranking fantasy player, one spot ahead of Dwight Howard.
Atlanta has a solid four game week ahead with a back-to-back against Detroit followed up with games against Boston and Orlando. A fairly weak schedule for the Hawks, one that Teague should be able to take advantage of and post some big fantasy numbers for you.
Another guard with a hot-hand is Golden State’s Stephen Curry. Curry is posting averages of 19.7 ppg, 8.8 apg, 3.4 rpg and 1.6 steals per game. With averages like those, the coming four game week is a great time to take advantage of Curry.
The Warriors play Memphis and Portland at home as well as the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans on the road. Curry and the Warriors could have huge games this week as the Lakers and Trailblazers are in the bottom half of the league in team defense. Expect Curry to have big nights as none of these teams offer strong guard play, at least none that can contain Curry.
