NBA Week 11 - Fantasy Must Starts

If you look at the NBA in the same fashion as the NFL then there are 25 weeks of NBA action. By breaking down each week and analyzing team schedules you can load your roster with players playing more games and sit those who are playing fewer games.

If all this sounds like a lot of work then you need not worry; because we have done the legwork for you. We are posting a weekly NBA start em’ and sit em’ fantasy guide to assist you in maximizing your fantasy roster potential.

Week 11 in the NBA goes from January 8 through to January 14. The week ahead has zero teams who play more than four games, most teams have three and their are a handful who have short weeks with only two games.

Let’s quickly run down the teams who have the short weeks as their players need to be sat down in lieu of more productive ones for the week. First off we have the red hot Golden State Warriors; which sadly means that Stephen Curry needs to be given an off week here. From the bay area we move to Los Angeles where we see the Clippers get only two games as well.

The Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz and the Portland Trailblazers also all play only two games. With so many teams involved here there are many top tier fantasy options that will be riding the pine for the week.

With so many fantasy studs on the sidelines switch your focus to James Harden of the Houston Rockets. Harden’s Rockets have a four game set this week after seeing only one game last week. This stretch sees three road stops in Atlanta, Washington and Boston and a home game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Harden returned to game action against Oklahoma last week and while he wasn’t his usual self for that game his subsequent two games have been stellar. Look for Harden to keep the hot hand this week against some inferior opponents.

From Houston we move over to New Orleans and identify the Pelicans Anthony Davis as a top-performer for the coming week. ‘The Brow’ has quietly been going about his business of posting near nightly double-doubles with much improved field goal percentages and tenacious rebounding.

New Orleans doesn’t have an easy go this week and they will be relying on Davis to perform up to his potential. The Pelicans have a home and home series against Dallas, and they host Washington and San Antonio as well. Three home games in the week means good ol’ home cooking and less tired legs on the court. Run Davis this week for your fantasy teams.

A stop in at the Valley of the Sun sees Phoenix gearing up for a four game road swing this week. The Suns will be playing without Eric Bledsoe for the week which means that Gerald Green will continue to get the starts in his place. Green has performed admirably as he scored a season-high in points and has gone over 20 ppg in four of his last seven. In addition to Green, throw Goran Dragic out there as well. In Dragic’s last three games he has averaged 24.7 ppg and 7.0 apg; with Bledsoe ailing Dragic has put the Suns on his back and carried them this far. Pair this duo for your fantasy squad and reap the rewards this week.
