NBA Week 15 - Start Em' and Sit Em' Fantasy Players

If you look at the NBA in the same fashion as the NFL then there are 25 weeks of NBA action. By breaking down each week and analyzing team schedules you can load your roster with players playing more games and sit those who are playing fewer games.

If all this sounds like a lot of work then you need not worry; because we have done the leg work for you. We are posting a weekly NBA start em’ and sit em’ fantasy guide to assist you in maximizing your fantasy roster potential.

As teams head into the all-star break many are looking forward to the extra rest that accompanies the festivities. Typically the week prior to the event is a busy one to compensate for the slow-down in game action next week. The only team on a short week this time is the Chicago Bulls as they play only twice leading into the break.

Seventeen teams play a four-game week so there are plenty of options to choose from. I’ll guide you through this week with my must start’s and must sit’s.

Week 15 in the NBA starts February 4 and goes through to the evening games on February 10, 2013.

Week 15- START EM'

Damian Lillard – Portland Trailblazers

Three consecutive months as NBA rookie of the year is certainly impressive. Lillard has been nothing short of outstanding in his run of success. This week takes the Blazers and Lillard on a nice little four game road trip with stops in Minnesota, Dallas, Houston and Orlando. I normally don’t advocate drafting players when faced with a series of road games; however, Lillard’s stats don’t vary too much on the road and he has been off to a terrific start to the month. Watch for Lillard to post averages of over 20 ppg while maintaining his season averages of around 6.5 apg and 3.3 rpg.

James Harden – Houston Rockets

Harden and the Rockets have a nice four game week ahead. A fairly favorable schedule has them matched up against Golden State and Portland at home and games against Miami and Sacramento on the road. Harden has played well this past week and I’d expect him to carry the success forward into this week.

Week 15- SIT EM'

Joakim Noah & Luol Deng – Chicago Bulls

Joakim Noah is out indefinitely with plantar fasciitis. As of now there is no timetable for his return as the Bulls are seeing how some rest helps the situation. Don’t look for the Bulls to rush Noah back to action as the bigger picture has a healthy Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah both at their best for the playoffs. In the interim Luol Deng has risen to the top of the heap as the best fantasy option the Bulls have to offer. Regardless of this all, the Bulls have only two games this week followed by another two game week. Go ahead and sit down both these guys till the schedule is more favorable.

Brandon Knight – Detroit Pistons

The Pistons acquired Jose Calderon from Toronto in the Rudy Gay swap. This acquisition means that Brandon Knight will slide over to the shooting guard spot to allow for Calderon to start at point guard. This should equate to a bump in scoring for Knight; however, without the task of distributing the ball his assist totals will take a big tumble. Throw in the fact that the Pistons are playing their third consecutive week consisting of four games and Knight here is poised for a fantasy let-down.
