NBA Week 19 - Start Em' and Sit Em' Fantasy Players

If you look at the NBA in the same fashion as the NFL then there are 25 weeks of NBA action. By breaking down each week and analyzing team schedules you can load your roster with players playing more games and sit those who are playing fewer games.

If all this sounds like a lot of work then you need not worry; because we have done the leg work for you. We are posting a weekly NBA start em’ and sit em’ fantasy guide to assist you in maximizing your fantasy roster potential.

Last week I recommended four players for your fantasy roster; Rudy Gay, David Lee, Al Horford and Dirk Nowitzki. Rudy Gay missed one game due to injury and had a poor outing in another due to back spasms. David Lee had a good week, except for getting suspended for a game mid-week. Al Horford bailed me out a little bit with a solid fantasy week; 25.3 ppg and 12.3 rpg was a nice stat line. Dirk Nowitzki had three solid games highlighted by a 21 point 20 rebound performance against Minnesota.

This week in the NBA has only one team playing two games; the San Antonio Spurs boast the least valuable fantasy options in the league for the week. On the flip side there are 19 teams with four game work weeks; so there are plenty of viable fantasy options to choose from.

Here we go with eDraft’s week 19 fantasy start em’s and sit em’s. Week 19 in the NBA runs from March 4 through to the evening games on March 10.

WEEK 19 – START EM’

LeBron James - Miami Heat

Well the LeBron James hot streak continues and it would be foolish to walk away from it all now. Keep running James out there as he is showing his worth as the fantasy stat-king. The Miami heat have a nice four game work week ahead and LeBron should be getting it done for yet another week.

Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors

Pretty tough to argue against keeping Steph Curry around for another week; particularly after last week’s brilliant performances. The last four games for Curry have seen him average a sickening 36.8 ppg. This week brings another four game set and I’ve got to go with the hot hand here; expect Curry to keep the fantasy points rolling in for your teams.

Ty Lawson - Denver Nuggets

Ty Lawson’s play of late has catapulted him into the must-start category in every format of every fantasy league out there. This diminutive point guard for the Denver Nuggets continues to impress as he rakes in fantasy points with well-rounded games. With a four game set coming this week for Lawson and the Denver Nuggets; Lawson is a premier option among all fantasy point guards.

Monta Ellis - Milwaukee Bucks

One might be tempted to think that Monta Ellis is showcasing himself for prospective teams for next season. Ellis has really turned on the burners since the All Star game and has set about destroying opposing teams backcourts. Ellis continues to be the offensive catalyst for the Milwaukee Bucks and with four games this coming week; Ellis will get plenty of opportunity to shine.

WEEK 19 – SIT EM’

Tim Duncan & Manu Ginobili - San Antonio Spurs

Tim Duncan’s fantasy output has been in steady decline for the past couple months. His ppg and rpg averages are lower than anticipated and his tendency to miss game action due to Gregg Popovich remains high. Now that Tony Parker is out for an extended period of time and with the void at point guard both Duncan and Manu Ginobiliwill suffer. Throw in the fact that the San Antonio Spurs play only two games this week and both Duncan and Ginobili become must sit em’s.
