NBA Week 7 - Fantasy Must Starts

If you look at the NBA in the same fashion as the NFL then there are 25 weeks of NBA action. By breaking down each week and analyzing team schedules you can load your roster with players playing more games and sit those who are playing fewer games.

If all this sounds like a lot of work then you need not worry; because we have done the legwork for you. We are posting a weekly NBA start em’ and sit em’ fantasy guide to assist you in maximizing your fantasy roster potential.

Week 7 in the NBA runs from December 11 through to December 17. During which time we see that there are a smattering of teams that play only two games, while the majority of teams suit up for three and a few get the busier week with four games.

Let’s start with those who need to sit out this week. Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks are down for only two games as are the Indiana Pacers and Paul George. Joining the crowd are the Miami Heat and their trio of fantasy-studs. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Rounding out the group of those playing a short week are the Phoenix Suns and Goran Dragic and the fantasy optionless Toronto Raptors. Needless to say every Raptor should be hitting the pine here until someone shows some consistency on the court.

Alright, let’s move on to those who should be on your roster for this week. Lets start in Golden State as I give the nod to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson this week. Curry is on-fire of late and he absolutely went off against the Charlotte Bobcats as he dropped 43 points in the loss. In the past week Curry has been averaging 28.5 ppg, 9.8 apg and 4 rpg. If only he can stay healthy Curry is in position to challenge for an MVP award.

Thompson is certainly doing his part to compliment Curry as the secondary scoring option. Aside from a dismal performance against the Houston Rockets last week, Thompson had games 30, 28, 22 and 22 points. With three of the four games this week coming at home, look for Thompson to find his stroke and benefit from the home cooking.

Another player making MVP-type noise in the Western Conference and coincidentally one whom should be in your starting lineup this week is Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge has been one of the most productive fantasy player over the past two weeks and his five consecutive double-doubles are certainly indicative of this.

Portland doesn’t have the easiest schedule ahead for matchups versus Aldridge but this week will be a good measuring stick for sure. The Trailblazers play host to Houston and Dwight Howard then they go on the road for stops in Detroit against the combo of Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond as well as trips into Philadelphia and Cleveland.

Taking a close look at the schedule for this coming week, the Detroit Pistons have a favourable four game set. They play New Orleans and Indiana on the road with Brooklyn and Portland coming into the Palace. There are some legit fantasy options on the Pistons and they each merit some consideration this week.

Monroe, Drummond and Brandon Jennings have been playing well of late and the coming week has some depleted teams on the horizon. There is little doubt that Monroe is a total fantasy stud, but take a chance on Drummond and Jennings this week and reap the rewards from a team that is playing well together.
