After putting up a .294 winning percentage in less than two years as the team's head coach, the New York Knicks have fired Derek Fisher.
It comes with the Knicks in the midst of a five-game losing streak and a stretch of 11 losses in their past 14 games.
New York had started out the season relatively strong, boasting a .500 record and showing itself to be a playoff contender in the first 40 games of the year. Since then, it's been completely downhill for the downtrodden franchise.
With Fisher out of a job, the Knicks have named Kurt Rambis interim head coach. They are also likely going to chase current Golden State Warriors assistant Luke Walton after the season. Walton played under Knicks president Phil Jackson with the Los Angeles Lakers.
