After missing the past two games with a sprained right ankle, New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins is in the starting lineup for the team's outing against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. Cousins had been questionable heading in, but was able to take part in the team's shootaround prior to being made available.
More than anything, this limits Anthony Davis' ceiling from a fantasy perspective. He was averaging 33.5 points and 16.0 rebounds with Cousins sidelined. The two have yet to really find a way to work with one another after Cousins was acquired from Sacramento back in February. It also doesn't help that the Pelicans are taking on a Mavericks defense that is yielding the third-fewest points to fantasy centers on the season.
While both Davis and Cousins should be considered top-end year-long options here, their values in the DFS community just aren't what they once were when they played on different teams.
