The playoffs are now into their third games and they have been nothing short of spectacular. So far, the road team has been surprisingly successful in nearly all series. Some high seeds like the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder have fallen behind in their series, while other teams are still neck and neck. Let’s see how each game went tonight.
Toronto Raptors vs Brooklyn Nets
The Raptors entered the game tied with Brooklyn after splitting their two home games with the Nets. After an impressive win just a few nights ago, the Raptors had hoped to keep up the momentum. Unfortunately, the Raptors were unable to pull off the comeback win as they lost 102-98. The Raptors were led by DeMar DeRozan who turned in another 30 point outing. The Raptors lacked consistent scoring besides DeRozan, although Patrick Patterson put in 17 from off the bench. The Nets were led by their guards Deron Williams and Joe Johnson who put in 22 points and 29 points respectively. The Nets have now taken a 2-1 lead in the series and will look to add to that with another home game on Sunday.
Chicago Bulls vs Washington Wizards
After sweeping the Bulls at home in their first two games the Wizards looked to return to Washington to take a 3-0 lead on the Bulls. The Wizards were unable to secure the victory at home and lost 100-97. The Bulls were led by Mike Dunleavy who turned in a magical performance in which he scored 35 points including eight made three pointers. The Wizards were led by their young guards, Bradley Beal and John Wall, once again as they scored a combined 48 points. One potential development which could have a large impact is the status of Nene after he was ejected for head-butting Jimmy Butler. The Wizards currently lead the series 2-1.
Houston Rockets vs Portland Trail Blazers
The Blazers were able to steal away home field advantage from the Rockets by beating them twice at home. Looking to take a 3-0 advantage in the series in their return to Portland, but the Blazers were unable to do just that. The Rockets managed to win in an overtime thriller capped off by a game winning three by rookie Troy Daniels. In a game that was all offense the Blazers came up short falling 121-116. The Rockets were led by James Harden who scored 37 points with nine rebounds and six assists. LaMarcus Aldridge was unable to replicate his performances from game one and two as he finished with 23 points on eight of 22 shooting. The Blazers were led by Damian Lillard who scored thirty points. The Blazers still lead the series 2-1.
