Miami Heat big man Chris Bosh missed the All-Star Game this past weekend due to concerns over a potential blood clot in his left thigh.
Remember, Bosh missed the final 30 games last season after blood clots in his thigh moved all the way to his lungs — a potentially life-threatening situation.
Bosh is now slated to meet with doctors later this week to determine just how serious the clots might be. In his rehabilitation from the clots last year, Bosh spent several weeks taking blood thinners as a way to relieve said clotting.
It remains to be seen whether the big man can return to action this season. If not, it would be a huge loss for the Heat. Bosh, an 11-time All-Star, is averaging 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds this season.
More than on-court issues for the Heat, let's all hope Bosh's prognosis after meeting with the doctors isn't the same as what he had to deal with last year. That has to be the biggest concern for everyone involved.
