As the 2016 NBA Draft approaches, more rumors spill out onto social media as we learn about potential players teams are targeting not only in the draft, but potentially via trade from another NBA team. While the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics have been the most talked about teams for trades, a new name and player has emerged in the rumor mill.
Sporting News' Sean Deveney reported that the Denver Nuggets are expected to be one of the most active teams on draft night and Kenneth Faried could be a big name potentially moved. If Faried is moved, the Minnesota TImberwolves would be one of the teams most interested as head coach Tom Thibodeau has worked with Faried before during their time with Team USA and believes Faried could plug in perfectly to what the TImberwolves need.
Denver will head into Thursday night's draft looking to continue its youth movement and with three first-round picks, moving Faried and adding to its arsenal of picks would be a move for the future.
Faried, 27, has battled some injuries in recent seasons but still played in 67 games last season, when he averaged 12.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He offers the athleticism and physicality many teams look forward. Faried's contract is also ideal with the mammoth increases coming to the NBA's salary cap, as he is set to make $12 million in 2016, $13 million in 2017 and $13.76 million in 2018, which gives team plenty of years of his prime services.
The 2016 NBA Draft will offer plenty of action on Thursday night with swirls of rumors of potential moves, it could make for one of the more exciting drafts in a few years.
