Rockets Sign Eric Gordon to a Four-Year, $53 Million Contract

The Houston Rockets are definitely going the shooting route. Hours after signing Ryan Anderson to a huge four-year, $80 million contract, Houston has doubled down on perimeter shooting by adding Eric Gordon ton a four-year deal worth $55 million.

With James Harden, the face of Houston's franchise, entrenched in as the Rockets starting two-guard, it remains to be seen where Gordon will fit in when it comes to their lineup. Remember, Trevor Ariza has acted as Houston's starting small forward over the past couple season.

At 6-foot-4, Gordon is too small to play the three on a consistent basis. Though, he can also handle the rock as the point guard. So when Houston decided against using the three-guard lineup, Gordon can slide over to the one and replace Patrick Beverley. It's also likely the Rockets will use the aforementioned three-guard lineup with Anderson sliding over to the five and Ariza playing the four.

As it is, this is yet another shooter for the Rockets to work with moving forward.

Gordon has been injury-plagued throughout the past several years, missing a grand total of 116 games over the past four years. When on the court, he can be a dynamic difference maker. The former Los Angeles Clippers top-10 pick averaged 15.2 points while shooting 38 percent from three-point range last season.

This came on the heels of him ranking among the Association's best from beyond the arc in 2014-15, shooting at a 45 percent clip.
