The Sacramento Kings found a home for disgruntled shooting guard Marco Belinelli, trading him to the Charlotte Bobcats for the 22nd overall pick. The trade was first reported by The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Belinelli signed a three-year deal with the Kings last offseason but turned in the worst season of his career, shooting .386 from the field and .306 percent form the three-point line. Belinelli is set to make $12 million total over the next two seasons and it seems Charlotte is aiming for a turnaround from the former sharp shooter who was a three-point specialist when he was with San Antonio.
For Sacramento, it was an easy decision to make given Belinelli wanted out of Sacramento and he was taking minutes away from Ben McLemore and Seth Curry, who could re-sign with the Kings. Gaining the 22nd pick allows the Kings to use it as an asset to potentially trade up into the top six picks and target a Buddy Hield, as CSN Chicago's Vincent Goodwill reported the Kings were looking to trade up from the eighth overall pick.
