With less than a third of the season remaining, it sure looks like Philadelphia Sixers No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons will not play this season.
Simmons underwent a CT scan on his injured foot Thursday, a scan that apparently didn't go too well. Out since breaking his foot in training camp, there's really no reason to believe Simmons will make his NBA debut this season.
It's unfortunate news for a Sixers squad that has gone through a share of injuries recently, including Joel Embiid missing his first two seasons with foot issues.
Now that Philadelphia has traded both Nerlens Noel and Ersan Ilyasova, this is a clear indication that fellow rookie Dario Saric will continue to see an uptick in minutes. Saric is averaging 20-plus points and seven boards over the past six games. He's surely now a fantasy relevant option for Philly.
