After a long road back from resting and recovering from back surgery, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr will return to the bench and coach his team on Friday against the Indiana Pacers. Kerr, who had offseason back surgery, will be back on the bench for the first time since the Warriors won the NBA Finals.
Kerr's return to the bench means interim coach Luke Walton returns to the role of being an assistant. While Walton wasn't officially credited with wins, the Warriors were an NBA-leading 39-4 under his direction. Walton did an excellent job as the Warriors interim coach and will be a hot name to target this offseason when teams with coaching vacancies are looking his way.
It will be great to see Kerr back on the bench with his team. Kerr's style of play will remain the same, which should mean no change from a fantasy perspective for any Warriors' players. It will just be a great moment in this season to see Kerr back out there running the show.
