The Toronto Raptors once again will be without the services of their All Star point guard. Raptors head coach Dwane Casey announced on Sunday afternoon that Lowry would miss Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Fortunately, the bad news came with some positive news for fantasy owners and Raptors fans. The swelling in Lowry's wrist has gone down and at this point he is day-to-day after test results came back clean. Which means Toronto could soon get its All Star guard back who averaged 22.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game this season.
Cory Joseph will draw the start in Lowry's absence, but is a risky value play in DFS that could turn in disappointing results. The big beneficiary numbers wise will be DeMar DeRozan, who saw increased usage with Lowry out on Friday against the Boston Celtics and dropped a phenomenal line with 43 points, five rebounds and five assists. Especially given the matchup, DeRozan is a tremendous play tonight.
