The money keeps pouring out as big contracts are handed out, with the latest coming from the Portland Trail Blazers as they signed Evan Turner to a four-year deal worth $75 million. The deal was first reported by The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Turner has had quite the career roller coaster, from being selected with the second overall pick in 2010 and underperforming for three years, then bursting on the scene a few years later with the Boston Celtics. Last season, the 27-year-old averaged 10.5 points, 4.4 assists, 4.9 rebounds and one steal per game last season in 28 minutes per game.
He arrives in Portland where he should compete for the starting small forward spot with Al-Farouq Aminu, who the Trail Blazers signed to a big contract last year.
After losing out on Chandler Parsons, the Trail Blazers landed their backup plan and he should see major minutes. Of course with the money they gave out, it may make things more difficult for them to match a large offer restricted free agent Allen Crabbe will likely receive.
