The Golden State Warriors will be resting veteran forward Andre Iguodala in the second half of a back-to-back Monday against the Miami Heat. It makes sense, as head coach Steve Kerr has indicated his players will be given a day off here and there, especially those a little long in the tooth.
Iggy has not been fantasy relevant this season, averaging just 5.9 points per game. However, he is also seeing action at a clip of 25.3 minutes per game. This opens up minutes for other Warriors players, potentially even starting small forward Kevin Durant. Though, Durant himself is at 34.3 minutes per game.
More than likely, this means a smallish uptick in minutes for Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Miami heads into Monday's game ranked in the top 10 of the NBA as a fantasy defense. Even minimal increase in minutes here could help offense the Warriors facing a difficult defensive opponent.
