Florida tight end Jordan Reed is one of the most intriguing players in the 2013 NFL Draft. While he doesn't have the production on paper you want to see when looking for a tight end on day two of the draft, he has all of the skills needed on the field to produce at the next level. One thing I love about Reed is that even though he played in a run-oriented offense this past season at florida, he still managed to make plays as a receiver and put the ball in the endzone. Reed is a versatile player that will be a match-up nightmare in the NFL, and could even have a long, successful career as an H-Back.

Strengths:
Athleticism: Reed is a freakish athlete, and most likely will not be able to be covered by man linebackers in at the next level. He's extremely shifty for a tight end, and will be able to stretch the ball down the field after the catch. Reed reminds me a lot of Aaron Hernandez in relation to how he'll translate to the NFL. Some will call that a very weak comparison, but you see what you see on tape.
Skill Set: Reed is a tremendous receiving tight end, and will most likely be asked to line up in the slot in certain situations at the next level. He has the speed to stretch the middle of the field, and he's a good enough receiver where if he is lined up in the slot, he may draw two defenders, leaving a more threatening target wide open.
Speed: As mentioned before, Reed is extremely fast for a tight end, and will show his speed and athleticism at the NFL Combine. He should run in the 4.6 range, but could post a higher time when the official clocks are being used. Reed's speed is what will help him be a versatile weapon for some team in the NFL.
Weaknesses:
Raw: Reed may be an exciting player, and he may be taken very high in April's draft, but he is still a very raw product. Reed played many different role as a Gator, but finally found his comfort spot at tight end this past season. He has played option quarterback, as well as runningback at Florida, so his time at tight end has been extremely limited. Look for him to make his biggest impact in the league after a year or two of solid coaching, as long as he has his head in the playbook.
Size: Reed is undersized in comparison to the standard NFL tight end. With a 6'3'' 240-lb frame, Reed will not scare off any opposing pass-rushers. While we all know he can't grow to be any taller, he could look to add five-to-ten pounds to his frame heading into his rookie campaign.
Bottom Line:
Jordan Reed is one of the most exciting players in the 2013 NFL Draft, and it will show on draft day. I don't expect him to make it out of the middle of the second round, and I personally think he could end up being one of the most productive players to come out of this year's draft. Teams like Chicago, Tampa Bay, and Green Bay could all use the services of Reed, and he would be an instant upgrade to any tight ends they currently have on the roster.
