Coming off a 10-6 season and first division title since 1999, the Washington Redskins have some work to do in the draft. Here is a look at their seven picks in the 2013 NFL Draft
2. Logan Ryan, Cornerback, Rutgers
Needing depth at the corner position Ryan makes sense. He plays both phases of defense as far as run support and playing the pass. One of the top corners in the draft and he will be in the perfect spot in the second round.
3. Stedman Bailey, Wide Receiver, West Virginia
Bailey is a solid route runner and comes out of routes crisply. He also has very soft hands and makes difficult catches look easy. With an unsure corp of receivers Bailey fits a need.
4. Tyrann Mathieu, Cornerback, Louisiana State
Mathieu will drop into the fourth round due to there being red flags about his character. He can play corner or safety and he is lethal in the return game. Couple him with Brandon Banks and they could create havoc on special teams.
5. Jamie Collins, Linebacker, Southern Miss
Great linebacker in stopping the run and could use work in defending the pass. London Fletcher is on his last leg and Collins reminds me of a young Fletcher. He recorded 96 tackles, 26 for loss and 10 sacks in his senior year at Southern Miss.
5. Chris Gragg, Tight End, Arkansas
Injuries were an issue for Gragg in a down year at Arkansas. He only made it into five games and scored three touchdowns. Will be a good run blocker for the Redskins and add some depth to the tight end position.
6. Dalton Freeman, Center, Clemson
With Freeman’s size he can be a good interior lineman and compete for a starting position. Freeman is another building block for the future of the Redskins as they infuse youth into this team.
7. T.J. Moe, Wide Receiver, Missouri
It can be difficult to find talent in the seventh round but Moe can be a great slot receiver. He is in that Wes Welker mode, given time to develop can turn into a great third or fourth receiver.
