Bills 2014 1.9, 2015 First Round & 2015 Fourth Round > Browns 2014 1.4
The Buffalo Bills moved up five selections to select wide receiver Sammy Watkins. It may come as a steep price to some but if you want to beat the Patriots in the AFC East you need to put points on the board and, coupled with Steve Johnson and Robert Woods, the Bills should do just that.
Many will say the Bills paid over-the-odds to move up five selections, especially with Mike Evans still on the board, but if you see a player you love and can believe he change your fortunes then you must pull the trigger.
Saints 2014 1.27 & 2014 3.91 > Cardinals 2014 1.20
The second major trade of the first round came when the Saints moved up seven spots to select the fourth wide receiver in the 2014 NFL Draft, Brandin Cooks.
Cooks is a sexy pick for New Orleans who needed some youth at wide receiver and a slot guy to play between Marques Colston and Jimmy Graham. Cooks is rapid between the hashes with impeccable route running and consistent hands. This young receiver moves the chains for fun.
Browns 2014 1.26 & 3.83 > Eagles 1.22
The Browns seem to be everywhere in the first round as they trade with the Eagles for the 22nd overall selection. Predictably, they moved up for a quarterback, unpredictably, it was for Johnny Manziel.
Footballs biggest enigma will be playing for the Cleveland Browns for the foreseeable future as he teams up with Josh Gordan and others to bring success to the state of Ohio. He has a long way to go if he wants to be an elite talent from the pocket in the NFL but the playmaking ability and gusto are certainly there.
Vikings 2014 2.40 & 4.108 > Seahawks 2014 1.32
The third quarterback comes off the board with the last pick in the first round and it is the Vikings who jump ahead of the Texans and select Teddy Bridgewater.
It was rumored the Vikings coveted Manziel but the Browns beat them to the punch so Mike Zimmer finds his franchise quarterback in Bridgewater. The former Louisville signal caller is a tremendous player who is a student of the game. A major upgrade to anything the Vikings have had in recent memory.
