2014 NFL Draft: Review of Week 4 Key Matchups

This past weekend had some excellent performances by several NFL prospects. Below is a quick look at some of the winners and losers who were previously mentioned in my weekend preview article.

Auburn’s Tre Mason finally had his first break-out performance of the season. He finished with 132 yards, a 5.1 per carry average and two touchdowns against a tough LSU defense. Mason is one of the more explosive players in this draft class, and could be one of the faster risers as the process continues.

Stanford’s prospects David Yankey, Shayne Skov and AJ Tarpley won the day. The defense limited the explosive Marion Grice to only 50 rushing yards. On the other side of the ball, Yankey and the offensive line generated a great push off the line of scrimmage helping the Stanford offense to rack up 240 rushing yards.

Ryan Russell failed to take advantage this past weekend when Purdue took on Wisconsin. His inability to generate consistent pressure on the quarterback absolutely hurts his overall draft stock.
