2014 NFL Draft: Review of Week 6 Key Matchups

Not too many huge storylines from the matchups I previewed last week. The biggest thing I took away from this weekend is that Utah’s Trevor Reilly continues to show his overall potential. He recorded a team-high 11 tackles against UCLA.

Reilly didn’t only do a good job supporting the run he also held up in coverage. This versatility will only increase his overall value as a prospect. He’s still a little raw, but it’s easy to see the type of potential he has at the next level.

As for UCLA quarterback Brent Hundley, I continue to see a talented but extremely raw quarterback. He isn’t consistent enough with his reads for me to place him higher than a mid-round prospect. Talent is only part of the equation, Hundley needs to learn how to become a more complete player.

Florida State made a huge statement against Maryland this weekend. They dominated on both sides of the ball and kept Maryland’s playmakers in check. Telvin Smith used his combination of speed and instincts to make plays all over the field. He finished with five tackles, while fellow linebacker Christian Jones only recorded one stop.

It was a very disappointing game for Northwestern wide receiver Tony Jones. He only managed to haul in three passes for a total of 23 yards.
