It was another excellent weekend of college football. Below is a quick follow up to some of the prospects who had an important weekend.
Clemson’s Vic Beasley continues to help himself each and every week. Against Boston College, he added another sack as well as two tackles for loss. The NFL places a ton of value on defensive players who can generate pressure on the quarterback. Beasley has proven that he’s capable of getting after the quarterback on a consistent basis.
Don’t be surprised if you start to hear Beasley’s name popping up in some top-10 discussions. Teams running a 3-4 defense will likely be the most interested as Beasley doesn’t have the size or weight to play defensive end at the next level.
On the other hand, Missouri’s Kony Ealy continues to underwhelm this season. He has all the physical tools but just hasn’t produced. Ealy is only a redshirt-junior so it might be in his best interest to return to school.
Two receivers I highlighted last week also had a rough weekend. Washington’s Kasen Williams and Texas’ Mike Davis combined for only four receptions and 68 yards. Williams has a tough time creating separation against the talented Oregon secondary which includes Ekpre Ifo-Olomu.
