Another updated 2014 NFL Draft Big Board and more changes all over the board. The biggest movement came from two talented defensive tackles, Tennessee’s Daniel McCullers and Notre Dame’s Louis Nix III, who saw their stock drop.

McCullers continues to really struggle and fail to live up to expectations. He has so much natural talent that it’s frustrating to see him not dominate the line of scrimmage. Most of his issues are tied to his inability to keep his pads down.

I moved him from the first-round range into the later part of the second round. He needs to start producing or his fall could continue.

Nix is in a different situation as he remains in the top-10 mix. However, his struggles against Oklahoma’s center Gabe Ikard. Nix was routinely moved off the line and sealed from the play. Ikard used his quickness and leverage to gain position. On the other hand, Ikard is one of my risers and someone who really showed his potential against Notre Dame.

Other risers this week include LSU’s Zach Mettenberger, Oregon State’s Bradin Cooks and Stanford’s David Yankey. Mettenberger continues to improve as a quarterback while showing a ton of poise. He has a legitimate shot to work his way into the first-round discussion.
Cooks is an electric player who makes plays all over the field. Oregon State realizes his versatility and will get him the ball in the passing game or as a runner. If Cooks continues on this pace he could start to challenge to be the third receiver off the board.

I’ve had Florida State’s Tre’ Jackson as my top guard for several weeks. However, Yankey has taken over that spot in my recent rankings. Both players are extremely talented, but Yankey has elevated his game over the past few weeks. It doesn’t help Jackson that he’s been dealing with injury issues.
