2014 NFL Draft: Week 7 Key Prospect Matchups

No. 12 Missouri at No. 7 Georgia
Saturday October 12th at 12:00pm ESPN
Prospects: #47 Kony Ealy-DE (Mizz) vs. #11 Aaron Murray-QB (Geo)

Missouri’s Kony Ealy is a highly talented defensive end, but hasn’t made a major impact yet this season. He’ll need to step up his game if Missouri hopes to upset the No. 7 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Generating pressure on Aaron Murray is the only way to get him off rhythm.

Ealy’s draft stock has been stagnate so far this season because he has only been able to generate two sacks. This game against Georgia is a great opportunity to build some positive momentum.

No. 12 Oklahoma vs. Texas
Saturday October 12th at 12:00pm ABC
Prospects: #1 Mike Davis-WR (Texas) vs. #14 Aaron Colvin-CB (Okla)

This season has been a complete disaster for Texas and their top wide receiver Mike Davis. Recently, Davis has come under fire for delivering a cheap shot on an Iowa State defensive back. This weekend he and his team face a tough Oklahoma squad.

Davis can expect to see cornerback Aaron Colvin lined up against him throughout the game. It’ll be important for him to erase some of the negative attention by having a big game this weekend.

Boston College at No. 3 Clemson
Saturday October 12th at 3:30pm ABC/ESPN2
Prospects: #91 Kasim Edebali-DE (BC) vs. #3 Vic Beasley-DE (Clemson)

The ACC features two of the more underrated pass rushers eligible for the 2014 draft. Clemson’s Vic Beasley and Boston College’s Kasim Edebali will both be looking to make a statement this weekend. Beasley is the more recognizable name of the two, but I’m sure many don’t realize that he already has eight sacks this season.

Edebali is a long and quick defensive end prospect. He uses his long arms and a non-stop motor to generate consistent pressure on the quarterback. Boston College will need Edebali to be on the top of his game if they hope to slow down Clemson’s explosive offensive attack.

No. 2 Oregon at No. 16 Washington
Saturday October 12th at 4:00pm Fox Sports 1
Prospects: #14 Ifo Ekpre-Olomu-CB (Ore) vs. #1 Kasen Williams-WR (Wash)

Oregon’s Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is getting a lot of love from the NFL draft community, but he’s far from a finished product. At this point, Ekpre-Olomu relies on his athleticism and size to hold up in coverage. He needs to really improve his ball skills and ability to get his head turned around.

Ekpre-Olomu faces a tough matchup this weekend against Washington’s Kasen Williams. Both players could use a strong performance to help their overall draft stock.
