2014 NFL Mock Draft with Player Comparisons

1. Houston Texans: Blake Bortles, Quarterback, Central Florida- The more you sit and think about it, the more this becomes a very realistic scenario on draft day. Andrew Luck

2. St Louis Rams (Via WSH): Jadeveon Clowney, Defensive End, South Carolina- The Andrew Luck of defensive prospects, Clowney is best DE to come out since Julius Peppers. Even with bigger needs the potential is too good to pass up. Lawrence Taylor

3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Derek Carr, Quarterback, Fresno State- Jaguars coaches got an upclose look at him during Senior Bowl and fell in love, more polished than Manziel. Matthew Stafford

4. Cleveland Browns: Sammy Watkins, Wide Receiver, Clemson- With another firing in the front office a lot has changed. Watkins will be a perfect complement to Josh Gordon to form an explosive duo for whoever is throwing them the ball. Cordarrelle Patterson

5. Oakland Raiders: Teddy Bridgewater, Quarterback, Louisville- Top quarterback on many boards falls in their laps. Sorry Al Davis, Raiders ain't screwing this one up. Russell Wilson

6. Atlanta Falcons: Jake Matthews, Offensive Tackle: Texas A&M- Falcons sit where they are and grab the best tackle in the draft. Matthews has HOF bloodlines. Bruce Matthews

7. Tampa Bay Bucs: Greg Robinson, Offensive Tackle, Auburn- Robinson is making a case as the top tackle in the draft. Excellent athleticism and a punishing blocker. Joe Thomas

8. Minnesota Vikings: Johnny Manziel, Quarterback, Texas A&M- Hope Rick Spielman is wearing a diaper because he just made a mess. The second coming of former Viking Fran Tarkenton, Manziel is a playmaker in every sense of the word. The possibility of him working with Peterson, Patterson, Jennings, and Rudolph is a scary thought for defenses. Fran Tarkenton

9. Buffalo Bills: C.J. Mosley, Linebacker, Alabama- The guy no one talks about. Mosley was voted as a unanimous All-American. The best overall LB in the draft Mosley can tackle, blitz, and drop back in coverage. Will make a force when he teams up next to Kiko Alonso. Brian Urlacher

10. Detroit Lions: Marqise Lee, Wide Receiver, USC- Another guy people have been sleeping on. Dont let his sub-par 2013 fool you. Lee was the Biletnikoff winner in '12 and is the best all around receiver in this draft. Lions finally find someone to compliment Megatron. Greg Jennings

11. Tennessee Titans: Khalil Mack, Linebacker, Buffalo- Not one of their biggest needs, but Mack is far too good to pass up. Steal of the draft at this point. Clay Matthews

12. New York Giants: Anthony Barr, Linebacker, UCLA- Giants were ready to sprint to the podium with Mack on their card, instead they take the next best thing. In fact, Barr could be the better of the two when it's all said and done. Dion Jordan

13. St Louis Rams: Zack Martin, Offensive Line, Notre Dame- If the game truly starts up front then the Rams just jumped straight into contention. After stealing Clowney at two, they come back and shore up their offensive line with one of the safest picks in the draft. Justin Pugh

14. Chicago Bears: Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, Safety, Alabama- Most wouldn't argue the Bears had the worst safety tandem in the league last year. Ha-Ha is an immediate upgrade while adding a playmaking presence. Ed Reed

15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Darqueze Dennard, Cornerback, Michigan State- Although offensive line is a huge need, Steelers have one of the oldest secondaries in the NFL. Dennard's physical style of play fits perfectly under Tomlin's regime. Darrelle Revis

16. Baltimore Ravens: Mike Evans, Wide Receiver, Texas A&M- Ozzie Newsome always takes the best available, at this point it just happens to fill a need as well. Evans' size will complement Torrey Smith's speed beautifully. Vincent Jackson

17. Dallas Cowboys: Jason Verrett, Cornerback, TCU- Cowboys are a mess everywhere on defense. Verrett will help shore up a weak secondary and will make a talented young duo working opposite of Chris Claiborne. Alterraun Verner

18. New York Jets: Eric Ebron, Tight End, North Carolina- A huge playmaker and match up nightmare, Ebron is an excellent security blanket and weapon for year two starter Geno Smith. Tony Gonzalez

19. Miami Dolphins: Taylor Lewan, Offensive Tackle, Michigan- I'm not as high on Lewan as most, but no one needs offensive line help more than the Dolphins. Lewan is a starter day one. Matt Kalil

20. Arizona Cardinals: Cyrus Kouandijio, Offensive Tackle, Alabama- Cardinals' interior line with Jonathan Cooper coming back should be solid, but they still need help at tackle. Kouandijo will team up with Cooper to make a dominating wall on the left side for years. Michael Oher

21. Green Bay Packers: Jimmie Ward, Safety, Northern Illinois- I personally watched Ted Thompson studying prospects at the Senior Bowl where Ward happened to shine. Already in need of a safety this pick makes a lot of sense. Ward is a big hitter and can blanket tight ends and receivers with his coverage skills. Earl Thomas

22. Philadelphia Eagles: Kyle Van Noy, Linebacker, BYU- Eagles are set on offense so will be inclined to add a playmaker on defense. Van Noy destroyed his competition in Mobile as an athletic pass rushing linebacker with excellent pursue skills. Von Miller

23. Kansas City Chiefs: Allen Robinson, Wide Receiver, Penn State- 6'3" 225 pounds Robinson is a big target who can stretch the field vertically with good hands and ball skills. He will add a playmaking component to a pass game that has been missing one for years. Keenan Allen

24 Cincinnati Bengals: Bradley Roby, Cornerback, Ohio State- The fastest CB in the draft. What Roby lacks in technique he makes up with his speed. Dangerous returner as well. Joe Haden

25. San Diego Chargers: Ryan Shazier, Linebacker, Ohio State- Still in need of a play maker on the outside, Shazier is expected to destroy the combine with his speed and quickness. Showing why he was consistently in the backfield for the Buckeyes. Jarvis Jones

26. Cleveland Browns (Via IND): Jimmy Garrappolo, Quarterback, Eastern Illinois- If anyone is moving on draft day it's Cleveland. With two first round picks I expect them to be moving this pick up or down to get the guy they want or stockpile picks. This scenario has them landing Watkins earlier to team up with Gordon, while Garrappolo can sit for a year as they assess Brian Hoyer's potential as a NFL starter. Tony Romo

27. New Orleans Saints: Dee Ford, Linebacker, Auburn- Ford's quickness and speed were on display during the Senior Bowl week as he impressed during practice and took home the games MVP award. Rob Ryan will get the most out of him as they rebuild their defense. Trent Cole

28. Carolina Panthers: Justin Gilbert, Cornerback, Oklahoma State- A tremendous front-seven was some what wasted by a horrible secondary last year. Gilbert is one of the most taleneted CB in this draft and falls right in the Panthers' laps. Brandon Flowers

29. New England Patriots: Louis Nix III, Defensive Tackle, Notre Dame- Wow. A top-five talent before a knee injury, Nix is a monster plug in the middle that adds pass rushing capabilities. With Vince Wilfork coming off knee surgery himself and getting past his prime, this pick is a dream scenario for Bill Belichick and Bob Craft. Vince Wilfork

30. San Franciso 49ers Ra'Shede Hageman, Defensive Line, Minnesota- Hageman is a freak athlete for a 6'6" 318 pound man. His versaility will be what sets him apart as he can play literally anywhere on the line. Harbaugh will find a spot, or two, for him as he adds more nastiness to an already stingy defense. Richard Seymor

31. Denver Broncos: Kony Ealy, Defensive End, Missouri- A potential top-20 pick, Ealy's pass-rushing abilities are too good to pass up. He will add youth, talent, and depth to an already strong front-seven. Aldon Smith

32. Seattle Seahawks: Martavis Bryant, Wide Receiver, Clemson- The biggest sleeper of the draft. Bryant stretched the field for Sammy Watkins at Clemson and got none of the credit for his success. The 6'5" 200 pounder will run in the 4.4s in Indianpolis and won't be a big secret on draft day. Bryant has excellent ball skills and runs better routes than people think. Randy Moss
