2014 Senior Bowl: Sizing Up The Guards

 1. Cyril Richardson,  Baylor

Richardson is a big, strong powerful blocker who gets to the next level and clears blockers and will be a great asset to the team that drafts him.

 2. Gabe Jackson, Mississippi State

Jackson is a big bodied guard who posses strength and great footwork he also drives to to get the second level. He has pretty good balance which will help him in the league versus inside rushers and run blocking.

 3. Brandon Linder,  Miami (FL)

Linder  is a big athletic guard who will beat you with speed and footwork and had to strength to take you down at the line of scrimmage, he will fit in with spread and  no-huddle offenses at a high level.

4. Jon Halapio - Florida

Halapio is a big physical run blocker who plays who looks to pancake anyone who  gets in his way. He looks to dominate anyone he gets to his hands on though he does have  balance issues when it comes to pass blocking, he will fix this if given a strong offensive line coach.

  5. Kadeem Edwards, Tennesse State

Edwards is a big guard with great power, most of  the line at Tennessee State left and still was great and its all because of the Edwards, he can beat you with the strength he has and he can also beat you with his knowledge of the game.

6. Michael Schofield, Michigan

Schofield, a former tackle, moved to guard to showcase his versatility and to improve his stock.   At 6'7" and 305, he is a giant that posses smarts and great posture for his height, he will fit better at guard with the strength he has, not he isn't  as quick and that is one of the big reasons he switched to offensive guard, he couldn't handle speed rushers at all. He wins his battle with strength and being put at guard will help him succeed as a mauling big man.

7. Wesley Johnson, Vanderbilt

Johnson has started at left tackle, left guard and center at Vanderbilt and best fits  at a blindside position. Johnson has good  quickness and flexibility, as well as upper-body strength to contain his opponents. His ability to slide in pass protection and can run block  effectively at the second level.

8. Joel Bitonio, Nevada

Bitonio has displayed good awareness against the blitz at Nevada, and is also effective at pulling tackle/guard which NFL teams will love also has explosiveness to his blocking and quick in getting to the next level.
