Antonio Gates Inactive for the San Diego Chargers

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates didn't practice all week after suffering a knee injury last week. Despite this, there was some optimism that he would be active against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon.

That's not going to be the case, as Gates is among the inactives for this AFC West divisional tilt.

Going up against a Raiders defense that is the worst in the NFL against tight ends, the expectation here has to be that Ladarius Green will be heavily targeted by a quarterback in Philip Rivers who has attempted 113 passes over the past two games.

Keenan Allen, who had been dealing with a hip injury, is active. He's put up 20 catches on 25 targets over the past two games and led the NFL with 53 catches heading into Sunday's game.

If you are participating in contests that start with the 4:00 p.m. ET games, both Green and Allen are obvious plays for the Chargers.
