Starting Arizona Cardinals right tackle Bobby Massie has reportedly been suspended three games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. It's a pretty big blow to a Cardinals team that needs to find a way to pass protect in front of the immobile Carson Palmer, who is returning under center after suffering a torn ACL last year.
With Massie out the first three games, rookie first-round pick D.J. Humphries will likely start in his stead at right tackle.
Though, that might not be a great thing for Palmer and company.
Massie, a fourth-round pick back in 2012, started 16 games as a rookie before being relegated to a bench role as a sophomore in 2013. He then returned to the lineup this past season, starting all 16 games.
Arizona faces the New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers to open the season.
