Drew Brees, Quarterback, New Orleans Saints
Brees dazzled in his highest performance yet this season in an unfortunate at-home loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. Giving it all he had in a Monday Night Football contest, Brees passed for an amazing 420 yards, had three touchdown passes and just one interception on all that yardage. Fantasy owners were rewarded 28.3 points for Brees’ outstanding effort as he earned his 11th NFL career 400-plus yard game. Coming off of a true QB1 performance will have Brees’ owners anxious to see more against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13.
Justin Forsett, Running Back, Baltimore Ravens
Forsett slashed through the Saints’ defense like a bolt of lightning while he helped lead the Ravens to victory Monday night. Having his most spectacular performance of the season, Forsett racked up 182 yards on the ground while rushing in two touchdowns. Fantasy owners who needed that extra boost to secure a win last night surely got what they wished for with Forsett adding 31.0 points to their totals. Forsett has turned out to be awesome asset to own this season, so continue to ride him high while he is on this massive hot streak.
Eddie Lacy, Running Back, Green Bay Packers
Fantasy owners of Lacy surely wish he would play against the Minnesota Vikings every week, because that is when he puts up his best performances. Not disappointing his fantasy owners one bit in Week 12 had Lacy tallying up 138 total yards and scoring both a rushing and receiving touchdown, resulting in 25.8 fantasy points. Relish in Lacy’s awesomeness this week, because he will be slightly more challenged in Week 13 by a Patriots’ defense who has only allowed 104 rushing yards and one touchdown in the last three games.
C.J. Anderson, Running Back, Denver Broncos
Anderson is developing into the best running back the Denver Broncos have at this time. Exploiting a Miami rush defense who had only allowed four rushing touchdowns all season had Anderson running circles all over them in Week 12, scoring a rushing touchdown along the way. For that, fantasy owners of Anderson were rewarded generously this week with 25.5 fantasy points. As long as Anderson is the Broncos’ feature back, continue to roll with him each week especially in Week 13 against the Chiefs who just allowed two rushing scores in their last game.
Latavius Murray, Running Back, Oakland Raiders
For those who had the insight to start Murray in Week 12 against a staunch Kansas City rush defense, your planning paid off. For a running back who played only into the beginning of the second quarter, Murray scored the fourth-most fantasy points among his class in Week 12. No, this not a joke. Murray made a mockery of the Chiefs’ defense last Thursday, helping the Raiders claim their first win in 16 games while robbing them for 112 yards and two rushing touchdowns. One of Murray's touchdowns was an incredible 90-yard run, where he completely blew through Kansas City's unsuspecting defense.
Unfortunately, Murray suffered a concussion soon after putting up all that yardage, but had he continued to play, the sky would have been the limit on what he could have accomplished. Especially noteworthy here is that the Chiefs, up until last week, had not allowed a single rushing score, until Murray gouged them for two in Week 12. If cleared to play in Week 13, Murray will face the St. Louis Rams.
Demaryius Thomas, Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos
Thomas was the true WR1 for which his owners drafted him for in Sunday’s win against the Miami Dolphins. Having his first three-touchdown game of the season, along with 87 receiving yards had Thomas rewarding his fantasy owners 26.70 points, making him the top wide receiver for Week 12. Fantasy owners can definitely be thankful for the absence tight end Julius Thomas for those additional red zone looks Demaryius received from quarterback, Peyton Manning. Thomas will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13 where the Broncos will look to continue their winning streak.
Odell Beckham, Wide Receiver, New York Giants
How incredibly amazing was Beckham in Sunday night’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys? The Giants did lose, however, Beckham really can’t be blamed as he put up a two-touchdown, 146-yard performance. Catching 10 of his 11 targets, Beckham was spot-on earning 26.40 fantasy points in Week 12. Beckham’s two touchdowns were awesome, however his second score which had him catching the ball with just three fingers as he landed backwards in the end zone, fully-covered will be the touchdown of the season that all NFL fans will remember. Coming off of his most elite performance of the season, Beckham faces a suspect Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense in Week 13.
Jimmy Graham, Tight End, New Orleans Saints
Graham, who has been a bit unpredictable this season put up the leading tight end fantasy performance in Week 12. Giving his fantasy owners a late Monday night boost to their fantasy scores, Graham added 16.70 points coming from two touchdowns and 47 yards. Graham is certainly on a roll with his touchdowns, catching five of them in his last four games. Next up for Graham is a matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Timothy Wright, Tight End, New England Patriots
Wright, surely started in just a tiny percentage of fantasy leagues finished Week 12 with the second-most fantasy points for the week. Targeted six times by quarterback Tom Brady, had Wright catching five passes, two of which he turned into touchdowns. While Wright had only 36 receiving yards, it was those two scores that had him nearly topping his tight end class in Week 12. Clearly a boom or bust fantasy option, Wright is a risky play in any given week when a healthy Rob Gronkowski is in the picture.
Delanie Walker, Tight End, Tennessee Titans
Walker had a remarkable Week 12 performance upon returning from a concussion he suffered back in Week 10. His career-high 155 yard game had Walker’s fantasy owners very happy campers at the end of the day. An explosive 68-yard play from rookie quarterback, Zach Mettenberger ended any doubts that Walker deserves to be in all fantasy lineups from this point forward. With healthy, reliable fantasy tight ends at a shortage, and Walker’s chemistry building with Mettenberger as shown by his nine targets continue to roll Walker as the fantasy season comes to a close.
