Denver Broncos
The Broncos have agreed to terms with five of their six draft picks, the most recent being tackle Michael Schofield and linebacker Lamin Barrow. Both players signed four-year deals this week, leaving cornerback Bradley Roby as their only unsigned rookie.
Linebacker Corey Nelson, wide receiver Cody Latimer and center Matt Paradis also signed contracts earlier this week.
Quarterback Peyton Manning was more than happy to have Ryan Clady back on his offensive line, even if it was only for OTA’s, as the Broncos get back into the swing of things preparing for training camp.
Demarcus Ware has also been a standout during OTA’s and is expected to have a big impact with the Denver defense.
Kansas City Chiefs
A lot of the talk surrounding the Chiefs lately has been contract talks with quarterback Alex Smith. Smith is entering his final year on his contract and is looking to sign a pricey extension soon. Much has been said to whether or not the 30-year-old is a top quarterback in the league and the exact dollar amount Smith should receive. Regardless, with contract talks wary, the Chiefs drafted a quarterback this year to plan for the future.
Kansas City also released tackle Colin Kelly this week.
San Diego Chargers
Chargers offensive lineman Jeromey Clary had shoulder and hip surgery this week, but no specific timetable was given, so his availability for training camp remains unknown.
Dwight Freeney returned to the practice field, but is still recovering from surgery to repair a torn quad. Freeney was limited to working with trainers on the side of the field.
Undrafted rookie free agent Chris Davis has impressed his fellow teammates and coaches playing both corner and nickel during OTA’s.
The Chargers have also signed all of their 2014 draft selections.
Oakland Raiders
Cornerback DJ Hayden was sidelined this week with a walking boot on his right foot after rolling his ankle. The injury isn’t expected to be anything serious for the 2013 first-round pick.
Juron Criner has turned heads during OTA’s thus far as he has made some standout plays. The Raiders have plenty of receivers who will by vying for a roster spot come training camp.
First round draft pick Khalil Mack has created quite the buzz around OTA’s, and has said the top quarterback on his sack list is AFC West rival, Peyton Manning.
