Biggest Fantasy Running Back Duds from Week 3

Marshawn Lynch, Running Back, Seattle Seahawks

Week 3 Statistics: 17 attempts, 69 yards and zero touchdowns (6.90 fantasy points)

Maybe we should have seen this coming. With Seattle being nearly 20-point favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was to be expected that Lynch wouldn't be on the field a great deal in this one. As it is, the Pro Bowler put up 69 yards and zero scores on 17 attempts in limited playing time. Don't fret, this was the exception to the rule. Lynch is the seventh-ranked fantasy running back in the first three weeks of the season.

Arian Foster, Running Back, Houston Texans

Week 3 Statistics: 12 attempts, 54 yards, one receptions (-2) yards (5.20 fantasy points)

Those who picked Foster up at the top of the first round in fantasy drafts simply didn't envision him putting up the 42nd-best fantasy performance for a running back in Week 3. That's exactly what Foster did against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. He put up 5.20 fantasy points and just 54 yards on 12 attempts. Foster is a mid-tier RB2 option through the first three weeks of the season.

David Wilson, Running Back, New York Giants

Week 3 Statistics: 11 attempts, 39 yards, zero touchdowns (3.90 fantasy points)

I told you so. Sorry to sound a bit like a jackass here, but if you followed my projections leading up to the season you wouldn't have been relying on Wilson as much more than a bench option this season. The second-year running back put up 39 yards on 11 attempts and recorded less than four fantasy points. Through the first three weeks of the season, Wilson is the 72nd-ranked fantasy running back. That's not even worthy of our consideration in deeper leagues at this point.

C.J. Spiller, Running Back, Buffalo Bills

Week 3 Statistics: 10 attempts, nine yards, one reception, one yards (one fantasy point)

Speaking of disappointments, Spiller just hasn't lived up to expectations through the first three weeks of the season. He recorded nine yards on 10 attempts while compiling a total of one fantasy point. That's simply ridiculous. Overall, Spiller is the 40th-ranked fantasy running back through three weeks.

Other Notables

Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 10.80 fantasy points (19th ranked)

Stevan Ridley, New England Patriots: 4.30 fantasy points (45th ranked)
