Bobby Wagner now Highest-Paid Middle Linebacker in the NFL

The Seattle Seahawks made star middle linebacker Bobby Wagner a happy (and incredibly rich) man on Saturday night by signing the former second-round pick to a four-year, $43 million extension, making him the highest-paid player at his position in the NFL.

The deal, which took months to negotiate, wasn't easy to get done. But once Wagner signed his name to the contract, any thought of him either holding out or remaining upset about his deal were thrown out the window.

That's a mighty high increase from the $1.2 million he earned last season.

Wagner, 25, earned Pro Bowl and First-Team All Pro honors last year, recording 135 tackles (83 solo), four passes defended and two sacks. He also finished as the fifth-best inside linebacker in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

In a move that has to be seen as absolutely huge for the sustainability of Seattle's success on defense, Wagner's continued presence on the Legion of Boom will continue to make him an IDP stud. He's currently the third-ranked dynasty IDP linebacker in the NFL behind Luke Kuechly and Lavonte David (via Fantasy Pros).

Though, some could argue Wagner over David.
