Brian Hoyer Sidelined with Concussion and Strained Neck

The Houston Texans didn't just lose an important game to the New England Patriots on Sunday night, they might have lost their starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.

Brian Hoyer suffered a concussion (the second for him this season) and a strained neck in the disastrous loss to New England.

Considering Hoyer missed a game with the previous concussion earlier this year, it's safe to say he will be out of action this upcoming week against the Indianapolis Colts. The larger concern here is that Hoyer may miss substantial time with the injuries. We know full well that the NFL's concussion protocol is much more extensive than in the past, an indication it might take him a while to pass through it.

With Hoyer sidelined, Houston will have to turn to journeyman backup T.J. Yates in an a huge game with the Colts next week.

At 6-7 on the season, the Texans are tied with Indianapolis for first place in the AFC South. With a loss to the Colts arleady on their resume, a loss here would pretty much end any chances the Texans have of earning a playoff spot.

From a fantasy perspective, there isn't much to look at here. No one on the Texans offense outside of DeAndre Hopkins has any fantasy relevance. That doesn't change with Yates likely to replace Hoyer under center.
