Brock Osweiler to Start for the Denver Broncos in Week 11

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak announced on Monday that Brock Osweiler will start for the team next week against the Chicago Bears with Trevor Siemian backing him up.

This means that future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning will not be active.

Manning completed just 5-of-20 passes for 35 yards with zero touchdowns and four picks prior to being benched in Denver's 29-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The 39-year-old Manning reportedly suffered a partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot a couple weeks ago against his former Indianapolis Colts team. He's attempted to play through it over the past two games.

This isn't a benching in the true sense of the word. Manning is out with an injury. Kubiak had previously indicated that the struggling veteran would remain the starter as long as he was healthy.

Through nine games this year, Manning has thrown nine touchdowns compared to a league-leading 17 interceptions. Dating back to Week 9 of last season, Manning has thrown 26 touchdowns and 29 interceptions.
