Buffalo Bills Suspend Offensive Line Coach Aaron Kromer

When news broke that Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer allegedly assaulted a minor over a dispute at a beach last month, there were calls for the team to fire the veteran coach. Now that charges ended up being dropped by the family of the minor and following an undisclosed financial agreement, Kromer's job appears to be safe.

However, the Bills announced Sunday evening that Kromer has been suspended for the first six games of the regular season.

Here's the team's press release:

Kromer, 48, previously acted as the New Orleans Saints interim head coach when both Sean Payton and Joe Vitt were suspended over BountyGate. The past two seasons saw him act as the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator.

While only a position coach, Kromer's absence could have an impact on a Buffalo Bills offensive line that ranked 31st in the NFL in run blocking last season. That could potentially have an indirect impact on LeSean McCoy's early-season performance with his new team.

Kromer will return October 19th.
