Chip Kelly: "I Think Our QB is Playing Well"

The Philadelphia Eagles fell to 3-4 on the season following an ugly performance in a 27-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday — a game that saw Sam Bradford throw for just 205 yards on 46 attempts without a touchdown.

It was yet another substandard performance in a year that has seemingly shown Bradford as a below-average quarterback.

This didn't stop Eagles head coach Chip Kelly from supporting his quarterback in a grand way on Monday:

Showing support for your quarterback in the public sphere is one thing. Using explanations like "I Have been pleased with Sam" and "I think ou quarterback is playing well" is a completely different thing.

Simply put, Bradford has stunk it up a majority of the season.

Including Sunday's loss to Carolina, the former No. 1 overall pick has thrown one touchdown compared to four interceptions in his past two games. During that span, he racked up just 485 passing yards on a whopping 84 attempts.

Overall this season, Bradford has put up nine touchdowns with 11 turnovers while leading the league's 17th-ranked scoring offense.

The only reason Philadelphia remains somewhat viable in the NFC East race heading into Week 8 is due to the fact that its defense is playing much better overall ball than a season ago. Outside of that, the offense — especially the passing game — has been a complete dumpster fire.

It wouldn't be surprising if those close to the Eagles — fans and the media alike — start calling for Mark Sanchez to take over for Bradford. That's where they are at in Philly right now. And anything Kelly says publicly can't ignore the fact that Bradford is definitely struggling.
