Bengals vs Texans Analysis and Predictions

The Houston Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals for the second straight year in postseason play.

This is Matt Schaub’s first postseason start as the Texans try to eliminate the Bengals and repeat last year’s victory.  Houston had third-stringer T.J. Yates at quarterback last year in the defeat, which can only mean good things from Schaub, who has been leading a rather wobbly team towards the end of the season.  He is blessed with a weapon in Arian Foster, who is second in the AFC with 1,424 rushing yards and a league-best 15 touchdowns to his name, yeah no big deal.

Don’t think the weight of the world is on Matt’s padded shoulders, he has a lot help on his side.  You may have heard of a certain fellow named J.J. Watt; he roams the field, making interceptions, a specific one was particularly memorable when he made a 29-yard interception return for the go-ahead score.  Schaub is more spoiled than a Real Housewife of Orange County.

You can’t keep the Cincinnati Bengals out of your mind either.  I personally know having Andy Dalton on my fantasy football team this year was not something I regretted.  He leads his team to its first consecutive playoff berth since 1981-82, when I was just a star in the sky.  He was consistent for many fantasy owners and played a huge role in wins.  The Bengals are also known for a ridiculous defense and the insane running back in BenJarvus Green-Ellis who has a 1,000 rushing yard season and six touchdowns under his belt.  Plus, he has dreadlocks; you don’t mess with a running back with dreadlocks.

Now this is the part where you hear (in great anticipation) who I believe will win this matchup.  I have been going back and forth like crazy, and it ultimately went down to home field advantage and knowing there could be a repeat of last year’s victory.  With that said, I see the Texans winning this one.  With Andre Johnson, Schaub, and Watt on your side, it’s quite hard to argue this side.  It wouldn’t be surprising to see Dalton and Leon Hall take the win, however the gut side is saying Houston.  Plus, would you ever want to tell Watt he would not win this game?  Me neither.  I like my life.
