Dallas Cowboys Aiming for Week 7 Dez Bryant Return

Some good news lost in all the bad injury news coming out of Dallas.

Dallas Cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones indicated on a local radio station on Friday that the team fully expects Dez Bryant to be back on the field followings its Week 6 bye. Initial reports had indicated that Bryant could miss up to 10 weeks of action with a foot injury he suffered against the New York Giants in the season opener.

That prognosis is something both Bryant and the Cowboys have attempted to throw out the window since he suffered said injury.

For his part, Jones didn't mince words when speaking up about his star receiver's availability moving forward this season:

“Our prognosis has never changed,” Jones said. “I know there have been a lot of people who have doctors on their media staff and like to speculate on these things, but we’ve been pretty consistent from Day One. At first we thought maybe four to six [weeks] and that changed to six to eight. By the next day we were pretty much thinking six to eight. We really feel like it’s a very fair goal to think that Dez will be back after the bye.”

With Tony Romo sidelined up at least Week 1, Bryant will have to find a connection with Brandon Weeden until his starting quarterback returns.

The good news here is that Bryant is likely only going to miss four games in total.
