Davante Adams Downgraded to "Doubtful" for Week 5

After missing the entire week of practice with an ankle injury, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams' status for Week 5 grew even less optimistic on Saturday. After being classified as "questionable" to play in Sunday's game versus the St. Louis Rams, Adams has now been downgraded to "doubtful".

It should not come as a real surprise given Adams hasn't practiced all week and has now missed two straight weeks of practice as the Packers let his ankle recovery, after he aggravated the injury in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

With Adams expected to miss Sunday's game, rookie Ty Montgomery will once again step in as Green Bay's number-three receiver. Montgomery has excelled on kickoff returns this season, but is still adjusting to the NFL as a receiver. He has nine receptions for 66 receiving yards and a touchdown on the season and 189 kickoff return yards on six attempts.

From a fantasy perspective, he is a fringe WR4 this week in fantasy and should not be relied upon right now in daily fantasy football as a value play.
