Second-year Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr struggled a great deal Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday afternoon prior to leaving the game with a hand injury late in the second quarter.
Carr, who completed 7-of-12 passes for 61 yards prior to exiting the game, received X-rays immediately after the Raiders 33-13 loss. The good news here is that the X-rays showed up negative, which is an indication that Carr's injury shouldn't be long-term.
The Raiders did not provide any further updates Sunday evening.
If Carr is unable to go next week against the Baltimore Ravens, Matt McGloin will get the start. The third-year quarterback from Penn State completed 23-of-31 passes for just 142 yards with two scores and a interception after replacing Carr on Sunday.
Neither player is anywhere near a DFS play this upcoming week. We will keep up you updated on Carr's status, especially considering he was rosterable in most re-draft and dyno leagues. If he's out for substantial time, you may be forced to his the waiver wire.
