Despite Two Fractured Ribs, Jordy Nelson Hopes to Play Sunday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson suffered two fractured ribs in the team's Wild Card win over the New York Giants this past Sunday. He didn't return to the field after a violent hit by Giants defensive back Leon Hall.

Now, despite reports that it would take an "incredible effort" for Nelson to suit up Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional playoffs, Nelson is considering wearing some sort of a protective vest in hopes to play.

It's a long shot, but Nelson has been Aaron Rodgers' primary target during a seven-game winning streak that has seen the quarterback thrown 19 touchdowns compared to zero interceptions. In fact, six of those scores have gone to Nelson himself.

Even if Nelson is able to play, he will be severely limited against a Cowboys pass defense that ranked in the top 12 of the NFL against fantasy receivers during the regular season.

Should Nelson not be able to go or prove himself not prepared to contribute, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams will play larger roles come Sunday.

Cobb put up five receptions for 116 yards and three touchdowns against the Giants last week. Meanwhile, Adams added a tremendous 8-125-1 stat line.
