Making his first ever appearance in a Miami Dolphins uniform, rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker started the team's preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Parker, who missed all of training camp after undergoing off-season foot surgery, caught one pass for 11 yards in just a handful of snaps. While it's good to see him get some action before the regular season, it's important to note that he was catching passes from McLeod Bethel-Thompson, the Dolphins No. 3 quarterback. Considering starters rarely play in the preseason finale, this isn't a tremendous surprise.
The Louisville product will likely open the regular season as Miami's No. 4 wide receiver behind Jarvis Landry, Greg Jennings and Kenny Stills. He's not necessarily a rosterable player in standard 12-team leagues, but it's likely Parker will find himself inching closer to the top of the depth chart as the season progresses.
